Emberville Classes

Emberville doesn't ask you to pick a class at character creation. Instead, you unlock classes by playing — and the real depth comes from a signature system: inheriting skills across classes to build hybrids the developers never hard-coded.

How classes actually work

🔓 Unlock by milestone, not by choice

Instead of picking a class at the start, you unlock them by hitting milestones while using a weapon or armor type.

🔄 Switch freely, respec anytime

Once unlocked, you can freely switch between classes. Each class carries its own skill tree. You can respec mid-run — e.g. from a brawler to a magic support.

🧬 The key mechanic: skill inheritance

Leveling a class lets you inherit its active and passive abilities into other classes, letting you tailor a single active combat class with skills learned elsewhere.

This cross-class system is what makes Emberville a theorycrafter's game — your "build" is defined as much by the classes you leveled as the one you're actively playing. It's the foundation of a future interactive class-inheritance planner on this site.
